Best EVER Butterscotch Cake with Swiss Meringue Buttercream



Ingredients

For the cake

  • Unsalted Butter - 170 grams (3/4 cup)
  • Dark Brown Sugar - 200 grams (1 cup)
  • Butterscotch sauce - 4 tbsp (see substitute above)
  • Eggs - 3 large
  • All-Purpose Flour - 280 grams (2 1/2 cups)
  • Baking powder - 1 1/2 Tsp
  • Baking soda - 1/2 tsp 
  • Salt - 1/2 Tsp
  • Sour cream - 250 ml (1 cup)
  • Vanilla - 2 Tsp

For decorating the cake

Instructions

  1. Grease and line two 8 inch baking pans or (3 six inch baking pans)
  2. Preheat the oven to 170 C / 340 F
  3. Sift flour with baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
